POINT ARGUELLE (California), Nov. 15. A United States attempt to rocket pieces of living matter towards the earth's dangerous radiation bolt failed today. A 62ft rocket burst apart in the air. the first stage falling on land near the coast, about

seven miles away from, the launching pad. There were no casualties, and no damage to property. The capsule went into the sea. and was lost. A United State* Navy spokesman said: “W* don’t have the exact impact position. The rocket malfunctioned, and veered off course. The flight objective was not achieved." The capsule was crammed with pieces of living matter, including fresh-drawn human blood. The 881 b package also included a device designed to capture and bring baek to earth for the first time tiny bit* of space dust, known as meteoroids. Plans called for the capsule, code-named Bios (biological investigation* of space), to shoot 1185 miles into space, and then parachute into the ocean 1300 miles west of Point Arguelle.
