£68,871 From French Tour
CN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Nov. 17. The New Zealand Rugby Union’s profit on the French tour in the season just ended will be about £68.871. according to thft provisional draft accounts presented to the council today. The surplus on the year's operations of the union would be about £40.000, said the chairman (Mr C. S. Hogg). The trials and inter-island match yielded the union a profit of £3617. Maori matches incurred a loss of £864. The gross gate from the 13 matches played by the French was about £186.039. of which the union’s share was about £106,208. There would be no great surplus next year, said Mr Hogg. Grants approved today included £4OO to each union which did not have a match against the French.
