10 Tries And Four Goals

Press Assn—Copyright) SAINT GAUDENS (Southwest France), Nov. 17 The New Zealand Rugby League team gave a great exhibition of speedy moves and brilliant handling yesterday to swamp Saint Gaudens Racing Club 38-8 after leading 23-3 at halftime. The manager (Mr Colin Siddle) said afterwards: “They threw the ball about and backed up splendidly. “We should do well in the second test on Sunday as all the players are in great trim. For the test we have selected 16 players from whom we shall pick the team shortly before the match. “The coach. Bill Telford, is waiting to see what the weather is like before final selection." The 16 players on the short list for the test are:— J. Fagan and W. Harrison: G. Kennedy, J. Ford. B Reidy. R. Cooke, and R Bailey: J. Bond and W. Snowden: R. Harrison. J. Butterfield. M. Emery. R. Hart, D Hammond. S. Edwards, and M. Cooke. Outstanding in yesterday's match were Reidy. Ford. M Cooke, Srowden. R. Bailey, and Emery. The local team was no opposition for the Kiwis in spite of its three internation-als—full-back, Andre Rives, and forwards. Armand Save and Jean Barthe The game was played in fine weather on a dry pitch before a crowd of 2000 Scorers for Kiwis were:— Tries: B Reidy (3». R Bailey (2>. M. Cooke (2), J Ford <2>. and Emery. J. Fagan kicked four goals. For Saint Gaudens. tries were scored by Nederozeff and Tachon. A. Rives kicked one goal.
