TRANSPORT APPEAL
Restriction Of Licence Sought
Restriction of a goods service licence, granted to C. L. Cox, Ltd., o< 137 Wairakel road, in August, was sought before the Transport Licensing Appeal Authority (Judge Archer )yeaterxfe>y. The Judge said he would give a written decision.
The appeal was brought by the Christchurch Shingle and Metal Supply Association (Mr A. D. Holland), supported by the Christchurch, branch of the Road Transport Alliance (Mr J. J. B. Connor). Mr J. A. Bretherton represented the company. In August the No. 9 District Transport Licensing Authority (Mr J. S. Haywood) granted one vehicle authority for the cartage of send, ahintfe, rock, reed metal, soil, clay, and spoil in the No. 9 dtotriot. He also granted five authorities restricted to the carriage of such materials to or from the company's own contracts. In work additional to supply, cartage, dumping or spreading, and in conjunction with the licensee's own plant upon hire. Mr Holland requested restriction of the first authority and clearer wording of the restrictions in the other five.
