Tarseal Now At Woolston
Tarseal, which has had one fourth placing from seven starts this season, has joined A. J. Bourne s team at Woolston. Tarseal has failed to trot smoothly in recent races, but at times has shown great speed. An aged gelding by Croughton from Raukapuka, Tarseal won four races last seasen. including the Gore Cup on Boxing Day against the pacers. If he can be made to trot solidly, he should be a big winner later in the season.
Happy Hunting Happy Hunting, which finished second to Urrall in the Empire Handicap on the first day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's New Zealand Cup meeting, has been rehandicapped to 24 yards in the Hayward Handicap at Addington today. Urrall returned a positive swab after the race and Happy Hunting must, under the Rules of Trotting. be handicapped as a winner.
Correspondents Answered "Inquiry.” Timaru. A horse on tain 29sec for two miles requires two wins over distances of one mile and a half or greater to earn a tain 25sec assessment. "Onlooker,” Christchurch. —The surplus of the Totalisator Agency Board for the last three years has been 3.2 per cent, of the net offcourse turnover. Without their share of the surplus, few clubs could survive today.
