OLD FOLKS’ OUTING

Ashburton Visit The Christchurch Old Folks’ Social Club recently held a bus trip to Ashburton attended •by 136 members. Afternoon tea was provided by the Ashburton Jaycettes under the supervision of Mesdames D. Aiken and H. Cullen. The Mayor and Mayoress of Ashburton (Mr J. Davidson and Mrs Davidson) presided at afternoon tea and welcomed the visitors. Mr T. G. McPherson, president of the Ashburton Senior Citizens' Association, arranged for commentators on the scenic bus trip around the borough. Mr H. Gracie, organiser of the Old Folks’ Social Club, thanked the Ashburton people for their hospitality.
