Concerto For Gourmet

While it it being performed j a man will sit on stage and consume a six-course meal followed by brandy and a t cigar. The man, Uie impresario, Henry Sherek, a distinguished gourmet, will be soloist in the premiere of Malcolm Arnold’* “Grand Concerto GaStrooomique for Eater. Waiter, Food and Orchestra.” It promises to be the taghMght of this year’s Hoffnung Music Festival on November 28. said/the “Evening News.” As the six movements of the concerto are being played, Mr Sherek will eat oysters, soup, roast beef, peche Melba, cheese, coffee and brandy. There will be wines with each course, and cigars to follow. “This is a serious work,” Mr Arnold said today. "Eating is a great art—something I frit which should be celebrated muriceMy."
