W.E.A. DRAMA SOCIETY

Three Plays To End Year

The W.E.A. Dramatic Society's last show this year will take place on November 21, 22, and 23. The programme include* a drama by Anthony Booth "Nitro.” which ha* been televised by the 8.8. C. It takes place in the office of an air transport company in South America. It concerns the reactions of pilots and their womenfolk when the air director plans to help relieve men trapped in a mine by flying dangerous explosives to the scene. "Hi&fo Tea,” by Hugh Miller, is a comedy set in the house of an unsuccessful actor during war-time, where tea laced with nitrobenzodrol, is consumed by the entire family and their visitors. The third choice is an *ll- - play, “Mr Hunter,” by S. Ready, a thriller about a group of actresses, locked in a railway waitingroom, trying to solve how one of their group met her untimely death. This show is being held in the W.E.A. rooms in Gloucester street at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the society, the W.EA. rooms or at the door on the night of the performances.

The W.E.A. Dramatic Society has had a most successful year in the British Drama League festival. Tt holds the Muirhead trophy, es winner of the B grade, also the cups for the bestproduced New Zealand play, which was “34 Days Running,” by Harold Pointer.
