Nest Egg

An unexpected windfall was received by two little girls last week-end in Wellington. The girls, Sharon and Janet Tomkies, aged eight and 10 • respectively, found a baby sparrow which had fallen out of its nest, and r' rcided to rear it in a discarded blackbird’s nest placed in a shoebox. While looking for worms in the garden they discovered a sparrow’s nest, which had fallen out of a fruit tree. Deciding to substitute the sparrow’s nest for the blackbird’s they took it inside and found woven into the nest a dirty , but neatly folded 10s note.— (P.A.)
