“Great Future In U.S.”

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 15. New Zealand lamb has a great future on the American market, according to Mr R. Miner Hays, of International Meat Brokers, Inc., Los Angeles. But he said today that it must be cut in New Zealand in the way the Americans wanted it and packaged ready for selling. Mr Hays, who is the adviser on the American market to a Wanganui meat packing firm, said the American market needed lamb badly, but it was no good sending frozen careases for cutting over there. The meat could not be cut to suit the American market after freezing. Americans realised that New Zeeland had better lamb than could be produced locally. Mr Hays added that the boneless beef market to America was also going to improve. However, it too must be packed as Americans wanted it
