FLOODING IN KENYA

Inland Area Cut Off

(N.ZP. A. -Reuter— Copyright) NAIROBI. Nov. 15. Floodwaters have submerged all road and rail links between Nairobi and Kenya’s principal port of Mombasa, and severed road connexions between Kenya and the other East African territories of Uganda and Tanganyika. Last night rail and road passengers were stranded in all three countries and general transport was reported paralysed throughout East Africa. The African fireman of a relief train which went to the scene of a derailment was drowned when his train plunged into the floods where the Nairobi-Mombasa line had been washed away. The United States Air Force yesterday took a hand for the first time in relief work when a Hercules transport aircraft based in Nairobi for rocket capsule recovery dropped 15,000 pounds of maize to flooded areas of the northern province.

Belgrade Talks.— The British Lord Privy Seal and Deputy Foreign Minister (Mr Edward Heath) arrived in Belgrade by air from London tonight for four days of talks with Jugoslav leaders.—(Belgrade, November 15.)
