Mr W. L'Estrainge, senior elerk of the Supreme Court, has been appointed deputy registrar of the Dunedin Supreme Court. He will take up his new appointment on November 27. .Mr L. F. Young, of Christchurch, has been admitted by the New Zealand Society of Accountants as an associate registered accountant. The City Council last evening recorded its appreciation of the services to the city of Sir Ernest Andrews, a former Mayor, who died last week, and expressed sympathy with his relatives. Fira* Fish.—Mr R. HeptHirn, of Napier, opened the Bay of Islands deep-sea fishing season for 1961-62 yesterday when he caught a 671 b mako shark.—(P.A.)
