AUSTRALIAN ARRESTED

Absconded From Bail

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 14. An Australian, George William Stone, aged 34. was arrested at Mission Bay yesterday by Auckland detectives. He was brought in under a provisional warrant issued early last month by Mr A. A. Coates. S.M. The C. 1.8. received Information several weeks ago that Stone was believed to be in New Zealand known under another name. He was known to have absconded from bail in Sydney after being arrested and charged last February with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony. Information which came in yesterday pointed to a flat at Mission Bay. In midafternoon Stone arrived and entered it.

Detective-Constable H. P. Pihema then immediately arrested him. Stone appeared before Mr Coates on the arresting warrant and was remanded for a week in custody. (
