PIG SALES AT ADDINGTON
There was a very large entry cf porkers at the Addington market yesterday—about twice as many as a fortnight ago—and values opened considerably easier. Many pens of over-fat pigs had to be sent home, as no bids were made. Over-all. the market would be IDs to 15s cheaper. The chopper entry was one of the largest seen at Addington. and totalled about 50 head. Values held remarkably well. The baconer entry was also the argest this season and included three trucks from outside districts. For best quality pigs values showed little change but other sorts were easier by 5s to 10s a head. Values were:— Light and unfinished porkers. £7 & 6d to £7 16s 6d. Medium porkers, £8 4s 6d to £9 Os 6d. Heavy porkers, £9 2s 6d to £9 19s «d. v Choppers. £lO Is to £l5. Light and medium baconers. £lO 2s 6d to £ll 17s 6d. Heavy baconers, £l2 2s 6d to £l3 0s 6d.
STORE PIGS Entries in the store pig section were also heavy, and, no doubt, because of weather conditions. the attendance of buyers was very small.
