The Trade Practices Amendment Bill was introduced and read a first time when the House of Representatives resumed yesterday after noon. Amendments to the Broadcasting Corporation Bill were also introduced. The report of the Labour Bills Committee on the I.C. and A. Bill was debated during the afternoon, and the dispute will be resumed today. During the evening eight bills were passed through all remaining stages. They were: the Cinematograph Films Bill, the Municipal Corporations Amendment Bill, the Emergency Regulations Amendment Bill, the Juries Amendment Bill, the Taranaki Scholarships Amendment Bill, the Quarries Amendment Bill, the Factories Amendment Bill, and the Tenancy Amendment Bill. The measures committed were:—

The Indecent Publications Amendment Bill, the National Provident Fund Amendment Bill, the Superannuation Amendment Bill, the Friendly Societies Amendment Bill, the Health Amendment Bill, the Harbours Amendment Bill, the Mining Amendment Bill, the Wages Protection and Contractors’ Liens Amendment Bill, and the Broadcasting Corporation Bill.
