Communist border guards yesterday shot and apparently seriously injured s German who attempted to flee to the West across the barbed wire on the French sector. The man fled under a hail of bullets from a sub-machine-gun and collapsed in the barbed wire. Before he could be reached, he roiled back into a ditch dug by the Communists, reported the British United Press. West Berlin police said it was an hour before the man was picked up by an ambulance. A 28-year-old man. escaped to the West early today by jumping from a third floor window into a net held by West Berlin firemen.
