MR KERR FOR LONDON

Conference Meeting Next July

The chairman of the New Zealand Cricket (Council's board of control (Mr J. L. Kerr) will represent the council at the next meeting of the International Cricket Conference in London in July. This decision was taken by the board on Saturday. In his address to the annual meeting of the council on Friday, the president (Mr E. O. Blundell) stressed the importance of New Zealand's representation at next year’s meeting, which would decide the fate of South Africa in official international competition.

At meetings of the conference in previous years New Zealand has been represented by its two resident delegates, Sir Arthur Sims and Mr A. H Gilligan. One of these delegates will stand down in flavour of Mr Kerr for next July’s meeting. The board re-appointed last year's national selectors for a further term. They are Messrs J. G. Leggat (Christ - church), J. Newman (Nelson), and J. R. Reid (Wellington). The judges for the Techno® Trophy competition this season will be Messrs E. D. Blundell (Wellington), J. Newman (Nelson), R. T. Brittenden (Christchurch) and D. Cameron (Auckland).
