LONG SERVICE RECOGNISED
Gold Watches For Seven Employees
Gold watches were presented to seven employees of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., last evening by the chairman of the New Zealand board of directors (Mr E. D. Blundell) in recognition of more than 40 years’ service with the company. Those presented with watches were Mr R. H. Cranfield, who has been manager of the Christchurch branch of the company since 1946; Mr E. V. Gabites. who retired last December after serving in Timaru, Methven, Rakaia, Lyttelton, and Christchurch; Mr E. C. Ferris, who has been South Island audit officer for the last 17 years; Mr J. P. Steans. manager at Invercargill; Mr D. A. Wallace, auctioneer at Dunedin; Mr F. C. Julian, accountant at Blenheim; and Mr S. J. Finlayson, chief clerk at Dunedin.
