Australian Wins, N.Z. Man Unplaced
(NZFA.-Reuter— Copyright) BELFAST, Oct 26. The Australian representative at the international ploughing championships in Northern Ireland yesterday, A. Morrison, won the cup for the best work done by a competitor from outside the United Kingdom. Morrison is an Irishman who emigrated to Australia 13 years ago. He won the cup despite being unplaced in his class. HU cup also carried the title "Champion Ploughman in Britain.” Morrison became champion ploughman of Australia this year, winning a free round-the-world trip. He took pert in the world ploughing match in France last month, and came on to his native Ulster. Magsen Unplaced The New Zeeland competitor, A. Magaon, who was reserve champion in the world match in France, was unplaced in the Northern Ireland event yesterday. Both competitors will take part in the International Young Farmers* Ploughing championship in Northern Ireland today. Morrison leaves for Australia again next week but Magson. who is on bis first visit to Ireland, is staying on for a few days. His grandmother came from County Tyrone, and he intends to visit the cottage where she was bom.
