N.Z. FENCING TITLE
R. Binning Wins Sabre (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 23. The Wellington fencer. R. Binning. of the Polytechnic Fencing Club, won the final of the men’s individual sabre event at the New Zealand fencing championships. which ended in Dunedin this evening. With seven wins and no losses, he gained the title from K. Henderson (Auckland), who scored six wins and one loss. Another Aucklander. B. Pickworth, gained third place, with five wins and two losses. Detailed Results First ■ Semi-final.—Pickworth I K. Mann (Wellington) 2, G. Murphy (Otago-Southland) 3, R. Ellyett (Auckland) 4. Second Semi-final.—Binning I, Henderson 2. P. Potter (Auckland) 3, M. Tait (Otago-South-land) 4. Final.—Binning, seven wins 1; Henderson, 6 wins, one loss, 2; Pickworth, 5 wins, two losses. 3.
