PLANE CRASH
Death Of Pilot fN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 22. A Piper topdressing plane crashed at 7.10 a.m. today in the Waiwhiu valley, near Warkworth, killing the pilot. He was: James Kenneth Sorby, aged 28, single, of Glen Murray. The Warkworth police said tonight that details of the crash were not known. The owner of the property where the aircraft crashed, Mr G. H. J. Goodwright, said that he saw the plane disappear behind a ridge and then heard a crumpling sound. Mr Sorby was topdressing at the time of the crash. The aircraft was owned by Barr Brothers, Ltd., Auckland. aerial topdressers. Civil aviation inspectors are still at Warkworth making an investigation into the cause of the crash.
