OPERATION ON HEART

Girl Thought Drowned (NJ!. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 22. An operation on the heart of a six-year-old girl Immediately after she had been round apparently drowned at Sunset Beach, Port Waikato, early this afternoon was unsuccessful. She was Jeannifer Winnifred Potter, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Potter, of Buckland. She was last seen on the beach playing with other children at 1.45 p.m. She was missed at 2.30 p.m. and a search resulted in her body being found in the water. Resuscitation was carried out unsuccessfully by her father and Chief Petty OffiJ Wright. Dr. H. Whittle, of Manurewa, who was at the beach, took the body to a house and began an immediate operation. Dr. P. Eynon, of Tuakau, arrived soon after and assisted.
