CASHMERE VICAR
Rev. 0. R. Bambury To Go To Waikato
The Rev. O. R. Bambury. who for the last eight years has been vicar of Cashmere and chaplain to the Cashmere Sanatoria, has accepted a position as vicar of the parish of St. John, Te Awamutu. Mr Bambury will take up this post towards the middle of February. The present vicar is the Ven. J. D. Hogg, Archdeacon of Waikato. Mr Bambury is a member of the standing committee of the Diocese of Christchurch, a member of the board of governors of the Cathedral Grammar School, chairman of the Diocesan Youth Council, a member of the board of Christian Education of the Diocese of Christchurch and of the executive of the board, a member of the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Churches and of its executive, and a member of the Tuberculosis Association’s executive. During his ministry at Cashmere, a new parish hall has been built, the present church has been enlarged and a churchroom has been opened in the Bowenvale area of the parish. During the last two years a new church building fund has been established, and with cash and promises this fund now stands at £11,500.
