AIR LEAGUE ART UNION
Proceeds For A.T.C. A target of £2OOO ha* been set by the Air League of New Zealand tor it* fund to provide assistance to the Air Training Corp*. The league ha* organised a New Zealand-wide art union a* the mean* of reaching the target figure. The prise—a fortnight's holiday tor two at Australia's Gold Coast—ha* been given by Hawker Siddeley Aviation. A cheque to cover the cost of the prize wa* presented last week to the league's president (Sir Matthew Orem) by the newly-appointed general manager of the New Zealand de Havilland Aircraft Company <Mr J. Lorentz). Proceed* from the art union will provide fund* which are not available from official sources for corps activities One of the purposes of the fund anil be to provide a daily allowance to corp# cadets going oversee* on flights with the Royal Hew Zealand Air Force. More than 20 cadet* moke oversea* trip* every year. The fund will also enable squadron* to purctuee band instrument*, sport* equipment and tropines. Raffle ticket* are now being sold by 19.000 cadet* in the 30 New Zealand squadrons. The cadet who makes the moot valuable contribution to the over-all sole* c ill receive a course of gliding instruction at the club nearI est-his home
