Negro Leader For Film

(N.Z. Press Asm.—Copyright) NEW YORK, October 20, The Rev. Martin Luther King, the southern negro leader, would play the part of a Southern Senator in the alm of Allen Drury's novel “Advise and Consent,” the “New York Timen” reported today. No such character appears in the novel, by a former “New York Times” Washington correspondent. But Otto Preminger, the producer of the film, was quoted by the newspaper as saying the part had been written into the script. “It should indicate that it is possible for a negro to be elected to the United States any time, now or in the future,” he said.
