Competition In Wellington

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. H. A. Morgan (St. Pat’s Old Boys) made a dynamic start to the Wellington cricket season on Saturday by scoring the first 50 ol his 82 runs in 26 minutes. Top scorer for the day was the New Zealand representative, L. C. Butler, who had 63 not out at stumps for Kilbirnie against Onslow. Details:— University 170 for nine (B. J. Green 38, D. G. Boyd 32) met Wellington 153 (B. Meale 34; J. B. Park four for 38). Karori 168 (J. Hammel 42; G. L. Whyte five for 45, J W. Perkins four for 53) met Wellington College Old Boys 106. Kilbirnie 162 for three (L. C. Butler 63 not out, B. W. Sinclair 43) met Onslow 127 (P. E. Neal 35; J. Henrys four for 44). Midland 237 (I. H. Ching 52, A. Woolford 53. E. J. Sigley 46; G. W. McLellan six for 86) met St. Pat's Old Boys 122 for eight (H. A. Morg-n 62).
