N.Z. TRADE MISSION

Latin American Tour (NJS. Press Assn.-—Copyright) PANAMA, Oct. 21. A four-man New Zealand trade mission, will leave Panama later today for Peru and other Latin American countries to seek increased trade. The mission is led by the New Zealand Trade Commissioner in New York, Mr John Fenaughty. Mr Fenaughty told a reporter yesterday that Panama’s expanding economy and improving living standards were opening opportunities for increased New Zealand sales to Panama. At present New Zealand's sales to Panama were about 1,000.00 dollars a year. “New Zealand trading patterns could well change in the future because of the new economic groupings in Europe. Therefore we feel that now is the time to make our visit to Panama and South America,” he said. However, New Zealand realised that trade was not a one-way street and was willing to promote two-way trade. The mission, whose other members are Mr B. C. Hickey, Mr H. N. Buchanan and Mr G. Anderson, plans to go to Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil after visiting Peru.
