SOUTH OTAGO FREEZING
Reasons For Profit Fall
(N.Z. 'Press Association) DUNEDIN, Oct. 12. The trading profit of the South Otago Freezing Company, Ltd., dropped this year by 39 per cent. from to £125,515, for three reasons. The sheep and lamb kill dropped from the 1960 peak of 1,139,941 to 1,003580; average lamb weights were down ilb.; and there was a drop in the freezing rate of id per lb. at the beginning of the season. •This is stated by the chairman of the company (Mr F. L. Nicolson) in his annual report. This trading position has been reflected in the net profit of the company which, as reported, fell by 575 per cent. from £78.848 to £33594. This is the lowest net profit figure recorded by the company since 1963. ,
