Anglia Estate Car
The Ford Anglia is now being made available in estate car form and the first of the new models is expected to arrive in New Zealand next month. The estate car has the same mechanical features as the saloon, and from the front to the centre door pillar is exactly identical. The rear bench seat is upholstered in foam rubber covered with P.V.C., and rear seat passengers have excellent visibility through two large fixed side windows, hinged rear open, ing quarter panels and a 543 *q. in. area of glass 'a the tailgate. Tailgate The one-piece tailgate is counter-balanced by torsion bars and can be raised by a finger tip to above the horizontal, where it is self-sup-porting. The opening is 30 in high and 44 in wide, providing good access to the 15.25 cu. ft of space behind the rear seat When the rear seat is folded flat 54in floor space becomes available together with more than 35 cu. ft of luggage space. The rear floor is covered with heavy-duty grey lino-
leum, reinforced with polished alloy rubbing strips. The entire area, including the' wheel arches, is trimmed in P.V.C. and there is a headlining of similar material. The spare wheel is stowed below the rear floor section
