POTATO BOARD ELECTIONS
Grower Made Chairman Mr W. M. Williams, of Manawatu, was elected chairman of the Potato Board at the meeting on Tuesday. He succeeds Mr D. B. Annand. of Timaru, who retired after two years as chairman: Mr Williams represents the northern ward of potato growers and was one of the two board members who retired this year by rotation. He was re-elected unopposed.
The other retiring member. Mr T. E. Penn, of Christchurch, a merchant representative. was. defeated recently in an election of four nominations from merchant associations throughout the country. The merchant's representative elected to the board was Mr V. C. McPhail, merchandise manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Wellington.
