LOST PROPERTY SOLD

Goods ranging from a guitar without strings to electric drills and spanners were among 350 lots sold in the Railways Department’s annual sale of lost and unclaimed luggage on Wednesday. About 300 persons attended the sale, which realised about £3OO. The sale started at 11.30 a.m., and ended at 1 p.m. First to go were nearly 100 suitcases and contents. Competition for parcels of beer and spirits was brisk. Eighteen bicycles brought 9d to £l3 10s. A small transistor radio was sold for £6 and an electric floor polisher and scrubber for £1 15s.
