PROMPT ACTION BY LIFE-SAVER

Resuscitation Of Woman In Bus (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 5, Prompt action by an amateur surf life-saver trained in the expired air method of resuscitation probably saved the life of a young woman yesterday afternoon. The woman collapsed in a crowded Miramar bus about 5 p.m, and tumbled from her seat into the aisle. Nobody seemed to know what to do about restoring the woman to consciousness Then Mr R. A. Darling, of Miramar, pushed his way through the crowd, picked the woman up. placed her on a seat and applied resuscitation by the mouth-to-mouth process. Before the application the woman was plainly not breathing. After a few brgaths by Mr Darling she stirred and soon became fully conscious. Her recovery was so complete that she was able to go home without medical attention.
