Chalien’s Leg Trouble “The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, October 5. The Takanini mare Challen has had to be put out of training through developing tendon trouble in a hind' leg. She has been sent back to her owner. Mr J. B. Mitchell. of Palmerston North. A four-year-old. by Ruthless from Golden Climax. Challen has had two starts this season without reaching the money. Last season she won six races from 15 starts to become the best three-year-old filly of her year. As a two-year-old. Challen won six times in seven starts. Her earnings altogether have reached £10,625. She has been trained all along by F. and G. W. Smith.
