A tender for the reconstruc tion of the shell and roof of th.> Railways Department’.wool store in Aotea quay, had been accepted, said the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) today. The build ing was among those destroyed by fire on July 14. The successful tenderer was Scott's Engineering Company. Ltd., Christchurch. The price was £97,458, the lowest tender received. The building will be 500 ft long and 110 ft wide. It will have asbestos cement walla and roofing, and will be used to store wool, paper, and other merchandise.
