FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone is centred to the north of New Zealand, while a westerly airstream covers the South Tasman and southern New Zealand. Forecast.— Canterbury, Kalkoura Coast and Central Marl-borough-Moderate, occasionally fresh north to north-east winds predominating on the coasts, the winds otherwise moderate and variable; partly cloudy weather, with moderate temperatures on coasts and mild to warm afternoon temperatures inland. Outlook: partly cloudy for most part but possibly some showers in south later. Marlborough Sounds.—North-westerlies, fresh and possibly strong in exposed areas; partly cloudy, mild weather. Outlook: similar conditions. Nelson.—Light to moderate northerlies; fine, with mild day temperatures. Outlook: becoming mainly cloudy. West Coast.—Light or moderate variable winds; variable skies, with scattered light showers. Outlook: cloudy and showery.
