Payroll Thieves

Three men who stole £31.000 from an armoured payroll van outside the State Government offices, Melbourne, in March were each sentenced to eight years' imprisonment yesterday for the payroll theft and other crimes. Each received the maximum sentence of five years for the payroll robbery. One received a three years’ aentence for a robbery at Sylvester Post Office, Preston, on July 17, when £3570 was stolen frdm a car after ■ guard was blinded by flour thrown in his faeT
