HYDATIDS CONTROL
Prosecutions Successful
Magistrates have held that if a carcase is left in the open the raw offal thereon is accessible to dogs, says the annual report of the National Hydatids Council in detailing successful prosecutions which have been made under the Hydatids Act by local authorities. As well as prosecutions for enabling dogs to gain access to raw offal, legal action has been successful in cases of wilfully feeding raw offal to dogs, falling to comply with a notice to present a dog for treatment for hvdatids, failure to install an pffal disposal or treatment unit and in civil actions for recovery of control fees from persons who have refused to pay.
