ASSAULTED WIFE
Man Given Two Months’ Gaol (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, Sept. 2L Herbert Quinton Douglas, a 27-year-old painter, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment. to be followed by one year’s probation, when he appeared for sentence in the Supreme Court at Wanganui today on a charge of assaulting his wife causing bodily harm.» Mr Justice Haslam said that, while he accepted that there had been a long history of domestic discord between the parties, the accused had to bear some of the responsibility for the difficulties encountered in the marriage.
