NEW LIFE MEMBERS
Two Elected Two new life members, Messrs D. A. Colville and J. L. Karr, were elected at last evening's annual meeting of the Canter, bury Cricket Association. In proposing Mr Colville for life membership. Mr W. A. Hadlee referred to his long service to cricket administration on club, provincial and national level.
Mr Colville joined the management committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association in 1942, and later served as chairman. vice-president and president (In 1959). In the New Zealand Cricket Council. Mr Colville served on the management committee, was later chairman, and is now an executive committee member of the council's Board of Control. Mr Colville's playing days were with the High School Old Bqys' Club, In which he held every office. Mr Kerr’s Service
In the West Christchurch club and at orovinclal and national level, Mr Kerr had made a great Impact as both a Player and an administrator, said Mr T. A. Tucker, Mr Tucker referred to Mr Kerr’s service to the Canterbury association since he first joined the management committee in the early 1930’5. Mr Kerr, last season’s president of the Canterbury Cricket Association, is also chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council's Board of Control. Tributes to the work of both men were also paid by Messrs J. T. Eliott and T. W. C. Tothill.
