U.K. Chances “50-50” (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. Sept. 20 Finance Ministers from' Common Market countries who are at the meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund are saying that Britain's chances of getting into the. Common Market are no better than; 50-50. after the communique issued after the Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ talks at Accra last week. Thia was stated by the “Daily Mail" .financial editor, who says these talks were a severe jolt to the Chancellor of the Exchequer <Mr Selwyn Lloyd) because they showed . the very strong feeling held by Commonwealth countries about the Common Market.
Commonjvealth Finance Ministers are telling Corn- 1 mon Market Ministers that the United Kingdom will just not be allowed to make many of the concessions which she is expecting to be able to make as part of the negotiations. "The Chancellor is waiting until he gets back to London to discuss the whole position with the Cabinet,” the newspaper said.
