FIELD TRAINING AT WAIOURU

N.Z. Regiment To Take Part

A 13-day field training exercise at Waiouru for all Regular Army field units and the Ist Battalion, New Zealand Regiment, will begin on September 27. The battalion will leave for Malaya early in November.

The main body of the battalion and its vehicle parties will cross to the North Island on Saturday night and the following Monday. The battalion is taking its newly acquired Colours under special escort.

The main body is expected to leave Waiouru on its return journey on October 9, when the exercise will end.
