Overdrafts Down In August
Advances and discounts by the New Zealand trading banks stood at £217,5 million on August 30, against £218.8 million a month before and £174.1 million a year before. Net trading bank balances at the Reserve Bank on September 6 were £47.8 million, against £47.8 million a month before and £101.9 million a year before. Minimum required balances were £66.7 million, against £62.2 million a month before and £97.3 million a year before. Borrowing from the Reserve Bank was £19.7) million, against £16.4 million a month before and nil a year before.
