SHORT TERM MARKET
Life Offices’ Interest (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Sept. 20. The National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd., and the Colonia] Mutual Life Assurance Society, Ltd, have acquired a shareholding in New Zealand Short Term Investments, Ltd., the wholly owned short-term money market subsidiary of New Zealand United Consolidated,Ltd. The chairman of directors of United Consolidated (Mr R. H. Renouf) said today that since New Zealand Short Term Investments, Ltd., started operations in the short-term money market in April, 1960, it has arranged short-term investments in excess of £10.5 million. This was indicative of the potential in this market and he hoped that the company’s experience would help to accelerate the establishment of the official market refewed to in the recent Budget.
