Protest Meeting At Benmore
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 20. A stop-work meeting was held by workers on the Benmore project today to protest against the Government’s proposal to close down the Maraetai No. 2 hydro scheme. The meeting, called by the Workers’ Union, demanded that, failing other action, the men employed at Maraetai be transferred to Benmore. Aviemore or some other hydro project.
