Confinement To Ship

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Sept. 19. A 35-year-old Dutchman. Anton Simon Spanbroek. was prohibited by the immigration authorities from landing in New Zealand when the liner Dominion Monarch arrived at Auckland today. He had been prohibited from landing last week in Australia, from where he had been deported in 1959. The immigration authorities allowed him to remain aboard today after he promised not to leave the ship until he gets a booking to fly to Holland. He was kept in police custody ashore while the Dominion Monarch was at Sydney and Melbourne. He was treated as a normal passenger at sea.
