Selective Service

Sir,—The selective military training scheme proposed by the present Government, which has many farmer members, could be classed as lacking in democratic principle. Farmers and their sons will have the privilege of choice. The object behind this training is formation of a serving military reserve in war-time. Reserved occupation will operate in wartime even if training is done under the training scheme.— Yours, etc., WAR DISABLED. September 19, 1961.
