Adoption Of Standards

hrcug Association) WELLINGTON. Sept. 19. The adoption of standards for driving instructors and for driving schools together with the possibility of licensing both instructors and schools are under consideration by the Transport Department, said the Wellington jCity Traffic Superintendent <Mr J. Anderson). He was commenting on a remit passed by the N.I.M.U. at its annual conference at Wairakei urging the adoption of more stringent tests for New Zealand drivers. Among other problems, the special committee convened by the Government to review’ all aspects of licensing for driving, was reviewing the form of tests, their adequacy and national uniformity, said Mr Anderson. Mr Anderson, who represents the New Zealand Traffic Institute on the committee, said it would no doubt welcome concrete proposals for improving tests.
