Trading Expands; N.Z. Shares Again Firmer
After Monday’s cautious start to the week’s trading, business expanded on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Price movements, particularly among New Zealand shares, were again mainly upward.
Newton King 5s paid shares, in first business for some time, rose Is to 7s 3d. The more recently-trailed 10s paid shares were again firmer, at 14s 6d. Ultimate-Ekco, ex dividend of Is, sold at their cum dividend price. Alliance Textiles rose to a new peak of l'ss. Ballins Hotels and Griffins also made good gains.
