EXPLOSIONS IN ALGIERS
Grenade Kills Five Persons (N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) ALGIERS. Sept. 19. A total of 22 “strong" explosions were resistered in Algiers in less than three hours last night, military officials announced. No-one was injured, but two post offices, several blocks of flats, two pharmacies. two garages, and an office building on the city's wharves were badly damaged. One blast, outside a block of flats, was so strong that debris was found on the seventh floor and hanging f’om trollev bus wires in the s:-eet outside
It was reported last night that five persons died and 44 were injured at Geryville. south of Oran, on Sunday, when an insurgent tossed two grenades into a crowd of several hundred spectators watching a football match.
