WESTLAND CLUB

Loss Of £4BB For Year

(From Our Own Reporter) HOKITIKA, Sept. 18.

In spite of an over-all loss of. £4BB the Westland Racing Club had a satisfactory year, said the president (Mr J. B. Hood) in his annual report. "Extremely heavy rain from the beginning of racing on the first day of our February meeting caused a major fall in betting for the day,” Mr Hood said. “This caused a loss of several hundred pounds for that meeting. “Tlie rain that 'day ruined what would otherwise have been a very good year for the club,” he said.
